Knowing that one way to beat the economic doldrums is to sell more to the guests you get - Barney (one of the "& Sons") put together this Perfect Check Bingo Card. He prints out cards for each night and hands them out to the servers at the pre-dinner staff meeting. Servers can get a "Build-a-Check Bingo" each time they complete a line of five bingo spaces - vertically, horizontally or diagonally. The value of the prize increases for each bingo on the servers' card, and - if they work hard, each server can score up to 12 BINGO's, earning them a little extra pocket money!
Currently, each bingo nets the server an additional $5... get five perfect checks (BINGOs) and Barney doubles the prize to $10 each... get ten... $15 each... Complete the entire card in one shift & the prize is $240!
Now, who wouldn't try to sell a little smarter for that!
So - Barney's trying to be smart about this, too. Since the Bingo card is a free download on MyMenuLab (see Profit Builders tab), he can check inventory, the market or the reservation book - and customize the items on the card to meet his needs. So far, the staff at Jimbo's seems to be embracing the challenge and is suggesting items they'd like to see on future cards...
Everybody's taking ownership & helping Barney meet his goals. Don't be surprised if you hear shouts of BINGO! coming from the kitchen!
